The IPL 2024 Player Auction is set to take place in Dubai at the Coca-Cola Arena on December 19th, 2023. A total of 333 cricketers are scheduled to go under the gavel, with 214 hailing from India and 119 from overseas, including 2 players from associate nations. Among them, 116 are capped players, 215 are uncapped, and 2 represent associate nations.
The auction boasts a diverse pool of talent, with players ranging from seasoned veterans to promising youngsters. Notably, 23 players have set their reserve price at INR 2 crore, while 13 players have a base price of INR 1.5 crore, indicating the high stakes involved in the bidding war.
With a maximum of 77 slots available, franchises have a strategic task at hand in building their squads within the constraints of the salary cap.
